The Agora Journalism Center convened over 60 data practitioners, storytellers, civic leaders, designers, journalists, and researchers for a day-long, hands-on Data Storytelling Workshop in Portland. We explored how data can be leveraged to tell more impactful stories and identified key stakeholders necessary for effective collaboration.

Storytelling with Data at Build-a-Thon
At our Storytelling with Data at Build-a-Thon, interdisciplinary teams were recruited within the community to produce data-driven stories inspired by themes around some of the biggest issues facing Portland and Oregon. Each team was comprised of journalists, developers, designers, subject matter experts and students.
